"At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils.

And with boiling water, comes steam.

And with steam, you can power a train."

The temperature at which water boils – 212 degrees – also describes a basic theory of how taking one step, one extra degree, can yield larger results than one would think possible. Attend this dynamic and engaging session to learn more from Ryan Huffman, CPM, about the relevance of 212 degrees to the real estate management industry and its application to effective management.

Ryan Huffman joined Cohen-Esrey in 2002 as a property manager in the firm’s Commercial Management Division, and was responsible for the oversight of 1.1 million square feet of office, retail and industrial flex space in the Kansas City and Topeka areas. In 2004, he was promoted to a District Manager within the firm’s Multi-Family Division overseeing institutional grade multi-family communities in a multi-state area. In 2007, Huffman became a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Cohen-Esrey Communities, LLC, the firms multi-family management company a position he held for ten years with the firm. Huffman was responsible for the supervision of several District Managers within the management portfolio leading a team of over 350 members and actively engaged in the strategic planning of approximately 12,000 apartment units in 12 states.

Currently, Huffman serves as a Senior Vice President and the Chief Operating Officer for the Cohen-Esrey family of companies and is the firms Managing Director of Acquisitions through the firm’s multi-family investing arm. In this capacity, he actively manages the acquisition platform including locating, underwriting, capital partner cultivation, investor relations and closings for the firms growing portfolio. He is also responsible for the delivery of Cohen-Esrey’s overall operating platforms and intercompany infrastructure support functions.
